Parametric Synthesis is a youth exchange workshop promoting the exchange of experiences, information knowledge and expertise in architecture focusing on the use of parametric design for the development of overall concepts of design and fabrication. Last year the Workshop took place in Istanbul, in the premises and under the auspices of the Istanbul Technical University (ITU) between the 2nd and the10nd of October, with the participation of students from Greece, Turkey and the United Kingdom, supported by an international panel of tutors and lecturers. The participants were introduced to the key concepts of parametric thinking in architecture, and were asked to apply them on a site specific proposal for the area of Halic in Istanbul. Furthermore they were taught the basics of Rhino-Grasshopper. The workshop ended up in an exhibition of the 3 different group projects produced.
